The Challenge
Ron Hoffman is the proud owner of Hoffman Dairy Farm, a cherished century-owned, family dairy farm nestled in beautiful Dubuque, Iowa. The farm is thriving, currently tending to 197 lovely cows, keeping Ron and his sons busy milking for almost seven hours daily.
Like his father and grandfather, Ron has dedicated his life to uphold the family tradition of milking in a flat stanchion barn. However, he realized the toll it takes on the body and decided that he wanted a brighter future for his sons. With determination and passion, he's actively seeking a solution to ensure a more sustainable and fulfilling way of life for his family and their beloved farm.
"Milking is a really rewarding career, but it’s physically demanding."
The Journey
Ron and his wife were absolutely thrilled to embrace the growing popularity of robotic milking in the dairy farm industry. They have been loyal users of Paul Mueller Company equipment for several years, and it was without a doubt the natural choice for them to partner with such an outstanding company for this major transition. They are genuinely excited about the future prospects this decision holds.
"Paul Mueller Company's quality is excellent. The people behind them are thriving to make a better product all the time."
The Solution
The Hoffman Dairy Farm recently acquired a fantastic Paul Mueller Company bulk milk tank to complement their new robotic system. What's even more exciting is that the Paul Mueller team approached the Hoffman family with a groundbreaking proposal to be the pioneers of the Robotic Interface Control (RIC). This innovative interface enables seamless communication between the robots and bulk tanks. The Hoffmans were overjoyed to embrace this cutting-edge technology, and thanks to Paul Mueller Company, they now have a state-of-the-art system that effortlessly manages all valves and the bulk tank with just a simple push of a few buttons.
The Results
Hoffman Dairy Farm now has a much more efficient process for collecting and storing milk. With the help of Paul Mueller Company equipment, Ron and his family's physical demands have been greatly reduced, and they can easily keep a steady supply of cool milk. This improvement allows Ron and his wife to pass down their legacy and a much better lifestyle to their sons one day.
