Serving Beer Tanks Gives a New Meaning to Fresh

"We don’t just fill beer into tanks. We ensure the quality right through the process, and we drive excellence by ensuring Pilsner quality is being presented at each site. It’s visually stunning and it also demonstrates our commitment to serving the highest quality of craft beer."

The Challenge

There is little disputing that it's hard to beat beer poured straight from the taps at a brewery. Founded in 2013, Tankbeer®, a partner and exclusive distributor for Paul Mueller Company's serving beer tanks in the UK, was eager to find a way to help their customers (pubs and pub go-ers) experience fresh, unpasteurized beer, just like it would taste coming straight from the brewery. Always a challenge, they pursued a process to ensure consistency in delivering premium-quality flavor and freshness at the best possible price.

The Journey

Mueller's bag-in-tank system enabled Tankbeer® to deliver to their customers that brewery-fresh, unpasteurized beer directly from the brewery into Mueller serving beer tanks, where the beer's freshness was perfectly preserved.

The Solution

Tankbeer® makes their deliveries early in the morning, fresh from the brewery. Rather than storing the beer in kegs at the pub, the transport tanks transfer the beer to the Mueller serving beer tanks through a controlled, measured process under significant pressure. Utilizing high-strength bag inliners, the beer is never exposed to air and is perfectly temperature-controlled. The bags, which can be readily swapped without having to clean and decontaminate the tanks, ensure hassle-free freshness. The flow meter ensures they load the exact amount that should go into the tanks, informing the brewery of the exact charge. All of this typically happens within one hour!

The Results

The serving beer tanks ensure the consumer receives the highest-quality beer and allow Tankbeer® to easily take samples and test temperatures to maintain quality and consistency. The process, made possible by the serving beer tank technology, is helping Tankbeer® and its customers succeed.
