Benefits of Inflated Heat Transfer
Paul Mueller Company’s original Temp-Plate® inflated heat transfer surface, also known as, Open Tank Heat Exchanger, Prime Surface Heat Exchanger, Platecoil, Pillow Plate, Dimple Panel, or Panel Coil, is a highly versatile panel-type heat exchanger that serves as an efficient alternative to shell and tube, pipe coil, and more. When compared to shell and tube, Temp-Plate panels require significantly less space and minimize the chance of fouling, all while providing efficient heat transfer rates in high pressure or corrosive environments.
What is Temp-Plate Inflated Heat Transfer?
Temp-Plate utilizes two sheets of stainless steel, titanium Grade-1, carbon steel or high alloy metals that are spot welded and seamed around the edges to create a single panel. After the panel is welded, it is inflated to create space for the flow of a heating or cooling medium that keeps a constant and turbulent flow between the welded panels.
Uses for Inflated Heat Transfer
Temp-Plate can be welded, formed or designed to meet your exact needs with irregular shapes, high pressures, or corrosive environments. Designed to meet nearly any application, Temp-Plate can be used as an immersion, clamp-on, or integral heat transfer surface. Use Temp-Plate Inflated Heat Transfer Surface instead of Tranter Platecoil, McMaster-Carr open tank heat exchangers or Omega Laser Plates. We can design the replacement panels size for size, unit for unit.
We can work with you to find the best application for your heat transfer equipment needs in a wide variety of industries. Whether it be in chemical processing, energy recovery, or oil & gas, applications for Temp-Plate go as far as the imagination will take you.
