If we assume 100% coverage is required:
Biopharmaceutical equipment standards recommend a minimum of 40 to 47 GPM for a vertical cylindrical vessel at 60"ID using a static CIP device. The BPE minimum recommendation is normally the limit where most CIP designers would question the flowrate and will not guarantee 100% coverage.
Any flow rate under these recommendations are suspect and we will not guarantee 100% coverage up front. The other portion that should be considered is the vessel design, nozzles, locations, construction, other internals that require coverage, along with other design factors.
Until the vessel design is complete it is hard to know. If you are limited to a lower flow rate than recommended we can attempt to perform the CIP coverage test, if the CIP designer can consider it. Even in that case it would be hard to guarantee 100% coverage.
